Recently I’ve been very, very busy. I’ve been reading a lot about marketing on the internet, SEO, as well as coming up with ideas. I really want to try and make an online business work, but god damn, it’s hard.
I want to write about what I’ve been doing and what ideas are on the horizon for me.
Business idea #One: Drone parts
So the first idea I thought about was selling drones online. That was the basic one, but I knew that it wasn’t enough. I needed to get into a smaller niche.
After some browsing on the internet, I found that sites dedicated to beginners just getting into flying drones are not as easy to find. Of course, I’m sure there’s a reason for this. But how could I latch onto this kind of market?
Honestly, I’m still not sure. For a few days I worked on the idea. I eventually turned towards drop shipping parts here from China into the United States through Shopify. I’m focusing on checking out parts in person and putting them up for sale on my Shopify site. Truthfully though, I’m not sure how well it will perform.
The site is focused on helping beginners find parts for DIY drones and FPV drones. I will expand this slowly in the future, and will let it run for a couple of months to see how things go.
I’ve made a couple of blog posts and also have been adding a few parts that I have come across.
Interesting side note: I have been meeting a few Chinese people here who are into flying RC planes, quad-copters and other drones.

Business Idea #Two: Product Reviews
Honestly, this business idea has a couple parts.
Recently, I uploaded and also wrote a review about the Garmin Forerunner 35. This is starting to get some views on Youtube, so it might be a way for me to make a bit of money through monetization.
I do have plenty of products that I will do longterm reviews about. Affiliate marketing will be a part of that. Hopefully I can get popular enough over time to earn money through affiliate networking.
This is one long-term idea that I have, I just need to figure out a way to market my channel and this blog to get more visitors!
Business Idea #Three: T-Shirts
This was kind of a whim. Yesterday I got the idea based on the whole anti-Trump movement, so I made a few designs and through it on Shopify. You can check it out here: Screw Trump Tees
I’m looking to expand on this though. I’ll have to get another domain name and make a new shop, since this is a work in progress. Through Printify, I can figure out a couple of designs and put them on shirts, then market them. Hopefully it sticks and I can start making some money that way as well. I just dont want to pay Shopify any money to host it… 30 dollars a month adds up over time, especially when I already have a server I could put my website on.
With this said, I will be working with Suit Up for Kids, a non-profit in Florida that helps children with cancer. I’ll be printing shirts for them at cost here in China, and that may help market my shop as well.
Business Idea #4: PHP WordPress
Finally, there’s this. I havent been practicing my programming lately since I have been focusing on these other side projects, but learning about PHP and wordpress development is another idea. I can learn theme and plugin development and, perhaps, sell some online.
I also want to keep writing in this blog. I want to get more photos out there, and just keep things going with this blog and hopefully gain more followers.
It’s tough. I really hope to get to that $1000 dollar a month goal by the end of 2017. Wish me luck!
